PROCEDURE FOR CLEANING CYLINDERS IN INJECTION MOLDING AND EXTRUSION

Suitable for all thermoplastics in the processing range of 180-330 degrees

  1. Completely empty the cylinder and spray it out.
  2. The cylinder temperature does not need to be changed. Use the temperature of the material to be cleaned (the operating temperature of 180-330 degrees must be maintained).
  3. Please ensure that the cylinder inlet and the filling funnel are completely clean.
  4. Fill the funnel with Turbo screw cleaner. The material should not be mixed.
  5. Convey the material at low back pressure until the cleaner is visible coming out of the nozzle.
  6. Dose the cleaner at increased back pressure and high screw speed. For heavy soiling, you can leave the cleaner to work for approx. 5 minutes
(do not leave Turbo Screw Cleaner in the cylinder for longer than 20 minutes).
  7. Dose several times and spray until the contamination or color is no longer visible in the sprayed cleaner.
  8. Then completely empty the cylinder under high back pressure.
  9. Set the temperature in the cylinder to the next polymer.
  10. If the machine is not in use for a longer period of time, the Turbo screw cleaner can also be used as a freezing mixture to prevent deposits on the screw and in the cylinder.
